Global professional services network, Russell Bedford International, has announced the appointment of ECA as its first ever member firm in Senegal.

ECA (Expertise comptable, Conseils & Audit) was founded in 2016 by current managing partner, Djiby Mete, a CPA with more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of statutory and contractual audits, accounting and financial consulting. Headquartered in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, the three-partner firm also has branches in Tambacounda and Kédougou, in the eastern and south-eastern regions of Senegal. The firm is also planning to open branches in Ziguinchor and Saint-Louis in the southern and northern regions of Senegal.

In addition to managing the firm, Djiby Mete is also a lecturer in various academic establishments, including the University of Dakar, the University of Dakar-Bourguiba and the Higher Institute of Management (ISM).

ECA offers a broad range of services to both private and public sector clients, including accounts preparation, IFRS assistance, outsourced accounting, financial consulting, internal and external audit, due diligence and training. Clients include several listed companies and public interest entities.

Speaking about the appointment, Russell Bedford CEO, Stephen Hamlet, said: “It is my pleasure to welcome ECA to the network in West Africa. We have made considerable advances in recent years throughout the African continent and it’s encouraging to maintain such momentum. I welcome Djiby and his team, who join one of Russell Bedford’s fastest growing regions; and I look forward to watching their firm grow from strength to strength, with the support of their international colleagues.”

Djiby Mete, managing partner at ECA, added: “We are extremely proud to join Russell Bedford International. We are very eager to begin connecting with our global counterparts as we strive to realise our long-term business goals and ambitions.”

Klaus-Peter Hillebrand, director of the Russell Bedford board for EMEA, added: “A very warm welcome to our new colleagues in Senegal. ECA’s extensive experience and vast range of services will undoubtedly add to our already strengthening presence in Africa. I look forward to future collaborations.”
